Baptisms

Baptisms are usually on the 2nd or 4th Sunday of the month, but there are exceptions. The Pastor and church office will confirm a date for the baptism and discuss details.

Please complete and return the Baptism for Children Information Sheet to the church as soon as possible.

Weddings

Planning your wedding at the First United Methodist Church of East Greenbush:

DATE:	You should discuss the date and hour of the rehearsal and wedding with the pastor as soon as possible. The pastor will reserve the dates in the Church’s appointment book.
PLACE:	The Church sanctuary seats 250 people. It is equipped with a pipe organ.
MUSIC:	The regular Church Organist will ordinarily play the organ. The organist has a program of traditional music available and will be glad to consult with you to arrange the wedding program according to your tastes. If a substitute organist is requested and given permission to play at your wedding, that person will be responsible for the proper use and care of the organ. If you would like a soloist, this can also be arranged through the regular Church Organist, who has a listing of the suitable music selections available. Music arrangements should be made with the Church Organist as soon as the wedding date has been set by the pastor and you.
FEES:	It is customary for the bridal party to pay modest fees to the individuals involved in the wedding service. A small fee is also charged for the use of the sanctuary by persons who are not members of the East Greenbush United Methodist Church.

Funerals and Memorial Services

Planning a funeral for a loved one can be hard. The following information will assist you with Funerals and Memorial Services at the First United Methodist Church of East Greenbush.

Please complete the Funeral and Memorial Service Form with the details you would like included in the service.

Costs for a Funeral or Memorial Service:

ORGANIST:	$150.00. (The usual Organist Guild rate is $200.00.) If a substitute organist is used, there is a $15.00 fee for orientation and brief instruction on the instrument. Check should be made payable to the organist. Our church organist is Jacqueline Krahforst
CHOIR DIRECTOR:	$150.00. Check should be made payable to Robert Thomsen.
SEXTON:	$75.00. This fee covers opening and preparing the church and for cleaning and closing sanctuary after the funeral service. Check should be made out to the sexton, Steven Green.
PASTOR:	Though a fee is not charged by the pastor, an honorarium is customary. The suggested honorarium is $200.00. Our pastor is Rev. Danyal Mohammadzadeh.
SANTUARY:	$100.00 A check for use of the Sanctuary should be made out to: First United Methodist Church. This fee is waived for church members and their immediate family.
